thoughts

I've been doing a lot of thinking about the purpose of the Church lately. One purpose keeps coming up, and I guess you could call this the over-arching purpose of the Church. Our purpose is to glorify God

To Glorify God simply means to bring Him glory. The world glory, when used in the Old Testament bears with it the idea of splendor and greatness. The word glory when translated in the New Testament means dignity, honor, praise, and worship.

Putting these two meanings together, we learn that glorifying God simply means to acknowledge His greatness and give Him honor by praising and worshiping Him.

So now the question we must ask is this. . . Why? Why do we glorify God? . . . . because He alone deserves to be praised. . . because He alone deserves to be honored. . . because He alone deserves to be praised.

Thats my thoughts for this week. . .
